As we have previously written about in our blogs, LDG are (and have been for a while) a eco and recycling conscious business, actively encouraging our members of staff to reduce the level of single use plastics which easily make their way into the offices (and our homes) through take-away lunches, etc by going plastic free for July.
Our initiatives are spearheaded by our COO Susan Christie and Senior Lettings Negotiator Angelina Tokhtieva, who both actively take an interest in plastic reduction throughout their lives, as well as encouraging their friends, family and colleagues in the process.
“The issue of plastic pollution is something I really care about, so it’s great to have the full support of the company. I think the hardest challenge will be getting the confidence to say no to the retailers who automatically give plastic utensils without a seconds thought, when its’ easier to let it slide, but I am confident that the staff will get behind the idea!” – Angelina Tokhtieva
Plastic Free July is a non-profit organisation set up to encourage people to be more aware of their plastic use, aiming to create a cleaner world for generations to come. Part of this involves supporting behaviour change and helping others habitually #choosetorefuse shopping bags, straws, takeaway containers and coffee cups – just to name a few.
By doing so, we can contribute to reducing landfill waste, protecting our precious oceans and reduce our eco-footprint along the way.
I hope many of our many friends of the firm, including clients, tenants and guests will join us in “choosing to refuse” single use plastic and sign up to go Plastic Free for July using the link below, which also includes a very handy A-Z of alternatives for a Plastic Free Living.
